The St. Louis Office celebrated the career of CEO Jay Robinovitz with a special luncheon.   The entire Alter team isn’t quite buying Jay’s claim to be retiring, though it could just be we are all in extreme denial. We do know that we will miss working with an individual who has been both a mentor and a friend to so many in our company and in the metal recycling industry.   Jay, your acumen, character, and spirit shines through the whole operation, and will for decades, if not lifetimes to come. To celebrate Earth Day this year, we would like to congratulate our Davenport facility for their environmental excellence! Alter Trading Corporation is proud to announce our 2023 Alter Our Environment Continuous Improvement Award recipient is our Davenport, Iowa metal recycling facility. This award is presented annually to one operation whose actions have had a significant positive impact on the environmental aspects of Alter's business. As an ISO 14001-certified location, the management team consistently strives for and prioritizes continuous improvements in its environmental programs within its operations and are actively engaged throughout the wider community. Davenport last earned this award back in 2017 and is the first operation to have earned the award twice. Congratulations to our Milwaukee Team! This year, the President’s Safety Award - Large Yard was earned by our Milwaukee facility. In 2023, the Milwaukee Yard saw 10 more team members successfully trained in first aid/CPR, and AED usage, and a significant reduction of safety injuries and costs. Regional Director of Operations Mark Joyner presented the award to Facility Manager Adam Gahr and the entire Milwaukee team in March. The President’s Safety Award is earned by the operations that show consistent dedication and improvements to safety at all levels within the operation. There are two categories: Large Processing Yard and Small Feeder Yard. The large processing yard category includes all shredder yards, Z processing facilities, ATP and any yard that operates over 50 thousand production hours annually.

We are thrilled to celebrate the commencement of one of our latest projects - our beautifully redesigned Hot Springs yard. This location features a new entrance, an express drive-thru, a state-of-the-art truck scale, and a new cashier’s office. Many thanks to the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and all our guests for sharing this special day with us. It's been great to be a part of the Hot Springs community for over 48 years. We look forward to serving this community for many years to come!
